Background of the Study
Political party ideologies play a crucial role in shaping their policies, including gender-related issues such as women’s participation and inclusion in political processes (Ogunbiyi & Abdulkadir, 2023). In Kaltungo Local Government Area, Gombe State, political parties' ideologies have influenced the level of gender inclusion in political processes, with some parties adopting more progressive stances on women’s political rights while others maintain conservative positions (Mustapha & Bello, 2024). Gender inclusion within political parties is an essential component of democratic governance, and party ideologies can either promote or hinder the participation of women in politics (Chika & Alabi, 2025). This study investigates how political party ideologies in Kaltungo have impacted gender inclusion, with a particular focus on women’s representation and participation in local political activities.
